01 / Experience

Full stack work. In production.

Two years building Node.js services and React applications at Vedak. Here’s what I contributed across the stack.

Nov 2024 – Sep 2026

Vedak

Expert network platform

Full time · Bengaluru

Full Stack Engineer

Built and maintained a multi-service Node.js backend and customer-facing and internal React applications for an expert network platform.

  • Built React interfaces for Socket.IO notifications serving 500+ concurrent users, expert ratings with dynamic filtering, and an internal CRM reporting module.
  • Reduced the frontend bundle by 35% through code-splitting, bringing load time from 3.2s to 2.4s. Worked with Vite, Redux, and Tailwind, and migrated components from Material UI to shadcn/ui.
  • Built a webhook pipeline streaming Zoom recordings directly to AWS S3 with SDK v3, idempotency checks, and retries. Added authenticated, role-based recording playback for the team and clients.
  • Built an AWS SQS activity pipeline with a separate batch consumer, partial failure handling, and a dead-letter queue. A separate queued pipeline delivers recordings and transcripts per client, retrying individual failures up to three times.
  • Replaced host crontabs with a MySQL and Redis job scheduler, adding execution history, runtime schedule changes without redeployment, and Datadog failure alerts. Led the production cutover.
  • Integrated the Cashfree Verification Suite, including HMAC-SHA256 webhook verification and a polling workaround for an unavailable balance endpoint.
  • Built a two-way enterprise API integration syncing new experts and call schedules, alongside automated transcript delivery for a global consulting firm.
More about this role
  • Published an internal npm package sharing Sequelize models and migrations across backend repositories.
  • Built an OpenAI Assistants API classification service using a custom domain taxonomy to replace manual project categorization.
  • Set up centralized error logging and Datadog monitoring across backend services, reducing mean time to resolution by 45%. Used the Datadog MCP server to help trace application issues.

Also helped with Docker deployments, GitHub Actions workflows, and production debugging on AWS.

02 / Selected work

A few things I’ve put into the world.

Personal services, tools, and applications. What they do, what I contributed, and where to see the code.

02 / Backend service

Webhook forwarding service

Multi source webhook relay (Facebook, WhatsApp, Zoom, and a generic /:source route) that forwards events to target endpoints. Failed deliveries are stored in MongoDB with payload, headers, and error, and listed via GET /missed-requests.

Built the TypeScript service, persistent failed-delivery capture, and an API for inspecting and replaying missed events.

Technical details

Failed payloads, headers, and errors are stored in MongoDB and can be inspected through GET /missed-requests.

03 / Cloud & operations

Self-hosted infrastructure

Declarative Docker Compose and Nginx stack on AWS EC2: one stack.yaml renders compose and Nginx configs, with validation checks, local previews, release snapshots, and rollback. TLS via Certbot DNS-01 (Cloudflare) per root domain.

Directed Claude Code to build the stack. I deployed it and continue to operate it, including the AWS EC2 deployment and the earlier Azure VM setup.

Technical details

Includes separate dev and production setups, multi-domain routing, wildcard SSL, certificate renewal scripts, and multi-platform Docker buildx images.

Sahayog Crowdfunding Platform

Fundraising and crowdfunding platform for Nepal: users create campaigns, admins review them, and donors record pledges (eSewa, Khalti, bank transfer). Includes JWT auth, organiser updates, a blog, and rate limited APIs. Also includes donor leaderboards, Cloudinary uploads, helmet, and per-route rate limits.

TypeScript · React · Node.js · Express · MongoDB · Cloudinary

Food Delivery Application (Swiggy Clone)

Food delivery web app that loads live Swiggy restaurant data through the EduCors proxy (with mock data fallback), a Redux Toolkit cart, Firebase phone OTP verification at checkout, lazy loaded routes, and shimmer loading placeholders.

React.js · Redux Toolkit · Tailwind CSS · Firebase Phone Auth · Leaflet

Hospital Management System (MERN)

MERN hospital application with a patient portal and admin dashboard: registration, appointment booking with status workflows, contact messages, and doctor profiles with Cloudinary avatars. Role based JWT cookies and bcrypt hashing.

MongoDB · Express · React · Node.js · JWT · Cloudinary

React.js · Chart.js · Leaflet · Tailwind CSS

NetflixGPT (AI Movie Search)

Movie discovery app where natural language queries are sent to Google Gemini for movie suggestions, then looked up on TMDB for posters and trailers. Firebase authentication and Redux Toolkit state management.

React.js · Redux Toolkit · Gemini API · TMDB API · Firebase

Stock Market Dashboard

Stock dashboard with Chart.js price charts (intraday, weekly, monthly) and company search via Alpha Vantage, sector performance and market quotes via Financial Modeling Prep, a rotating news sentiment card, and Firebase auth.

TypeScript · React.js · PrimeReact · Vite · Art Institute of Chicago API

Travel Planner

Travel planner with Ixigo airport and city autocomplete (via an Express CORS proxy), trip date pickers, and a community places feed; photos are uploaded to Cloudinary by an Express and MongoDB backend service.

React · Node.js · Express · Ixigo API · Cloudinary · MongoDB

Other things I’ve worked on

Custom domain email

Configured brijesh@brijeshhq.com using ImprovMX for inbound forwarding, Brevo SMTP for outbound mail, and Cloudflare DNS for MX, SPF, CNAME, and A records. Uses free service tiers. Learned email authentication with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC, and how receiving and sending can use separate providers.

job-tracker-mcp

Built with Claude as a learning project and used daily. A TypeScript MCP v2 server with tools to list applications, add an application, update its status, and check due follow-ups. Uses Zod validation, serialized writes, atomic file saves, and recoverable error responses.

Authentication & service tooling

Additional work includes authenticator-app two-factor login and a Node.js service-to-service package for authentication, request logging, and masking sensitive headers.

03 / A little context

The person behind the code.

I’m Brijesh Kumar Kushwaha, a full stack engineer based in Bengaluru. I spent two years at Vedak building Node.js backends and the React interfaces they power.

At Vedak, I worked on the full path from a webhook arriving to a recording reaching the right client. That meant handling repeated events, retrying individual failures, controlling access, and making production problems visible.

On the frontend, I built real-time notifications, expert filtering, and CRM reporting, and worked on reducing bundle size. Outside work, I build and operate personal services, including EduCors and my self-hosted deployment stack.

I studied Computer Science at KNS Institute of Technology, affiliated with VTU. I’m now available to join immediately and open to full stack and backend engineering roles.
